EWG's Dirty Dozen & Clean Fifteen

Every March the Environmental Working Group (EWG) releases their Clean 15 and Dirty 12 list which is based on annual produce contamination data. The video below shows the list from 2020, but also has a few pointers that apply to every year. It's interesting to see how it changes slightly each year.

Is Organic worth the extra money? For these 12 foods in the "Dirty Dozen", it absolutely is! These are the most contaminated with herbicides and pesticides even after washing. The clean 15 are the fruits and vegetables you can get away with buying conventionally because they are either pest resistant, not as heavily sprayed, or they contain a peel or husk that is removed before eating.

This information is especially important for expecting and nursing mothers, children, and the elderly. All of these age groups are more susceptible to the damaging effects herbicides and pesticides have on our health.
